PREFACE
=======

Thank you for using the MO Device Driver Package.
This package is for use with the following versions of Windows NT;

OS:
- Windows NT Workstation Version 3.51(PC/AT compatible)



1. INSTALLATION
===============

1) Log on Windows NT with administrator privilege.
2) Insert the "Drivers disk" in your A: drive. (Suppose you are using A: drive.)
3) Select "Run..." from the "File" menu on the "Program Manager" window.
4) Type "A:\INSTALL.EXE" and click "OK".
5) After installation is completed, restart Windows NT to activate the device driver.


2. FORMAT UTILITY
=================

2.1 FUNCTIONS
The MO Formatter has 4 functions.
- Formatting MO disks.
- Converting the format of MO disks to NT.
- Ejecting MO disks.
- Assigning drive letter(s).

2.2 HOW TO RUN MO FORMATTER
NOTE: Before operating MO Formatter, exit all application accessing your MO disk.
From the "Program Manager" select "MO Utilities", and "MO Disk Formatter".

2.3 HOW TO FORMAT
This function is used for formatting an MO disk with one of the following format types.
- FLOPPY TYPE
- HARD DISK TYPE (single partition only)

1) Run MO Formatter.
2) From the MO Formatter screen, select "Target ID" button of your MO drive. This  will highlight the MO disk.
3) From the "Format" menu, select "Disk Format...".
4) From the "Format type" list, select either "Floppy type" or "Hard Disk type".
5) If necessary, enter a volume label.
Note: You have the option of performing a Low level format. This procedure takes more than 10 minutes to complete. See the "on-line" help manual for details of the Low level format.
6) Press the "OK" button.
7) From the "Format" menu, select "Commit Changes now...".
8) Follow the instruction on the screen.
9) Exit MO Formatter.

2.4 HOW TO CONVERT THE INCOMPATIBLE DISK
This function is used for converting DOS formatted MO disks to NT format and visa versa.
1) Run MO Formatter.
2) From the MO Formatter screen, select "Target ID" button of your MO drive. This  will highlight the MO disk.
3) From the "Tool" menu, select "Convert MO Disk...".
4) Follow the instruction on the screen.
5) Exit MO Formatter.

2.5 HOW TO EJECT
You may also eject the MO disk from the Formatter Utility by selecting "Tool", "Eject"

2.6 HOW TO ASSIGN AND REMOVE THE DRIVE LETTER(S)
This function is used to assign, change or remove the drive letter(s) for MO drive(s).
Note: Although this utility does not allow formatting multiple partitions on an MO disk, this utility will allow you to assign multiple drive letters to an MO disk that has been previously formatted with multiple partitions. 
1) Run MO Formatter.
2) From the MO Formatter screen, select "SCSI ID" button of your MO drive. This will highlight the MO disk.
3) From the "Tool" menu, select "Assign Drive Letter...".
4) To assign a drive letter, select a drive letter from the "Selecte Drive" list and press the "Add" button.
5) To remove a drive letter, select a drive letter from the "Assigne Drive" list and press the "Remove" button.
6) Press the "OK" button to exit from the "Assign Drive Letter" dialog.
7) Exit MO Formatter.
8) Restart Windows NT.


3. DEVICE DRIVER
================

3.1 HOW TO DISABLE YOUR MO DEVICE DRIVER
1) From the "Control Panel", select "Devices".
2) Select "f3axmokc" and press the "Startup..." button, then, a "Device" dialog appears.
3) Select "Disabled" within the "Startup Type" list box and press the "OK" button.
4) Select "f3axmodk" and press the "Startup..." button, and a "Device" dialog appears.
5) Select "Disabled" within the "Startup Type" list box and press the "OK" button.
6) Press the "Close" button to finish the "Devices" applet.
7) Restart Windows NT.

3.2 HOW TO ENABLE YOUR MO DEVICE DRIVER
This section shows how to enable the MO device driver after it has been disabled.
1) From the "Control Panel", select "Devices".
2) Select "f3axmokc" and press the "Startup..." button, then, a "Device" dialog appears.
3) Select "System" within the "Startup Type" list box and press the "OK" button.
4) Select "f3axmodk" and press the "Startup..." button, and a "Device" dialog appears.
5) Select "Boot" within the "Startup Type" list box and press the "OK" button.
6) Press the "Close" button to finish the "Devices" applet.
7) Reconfirm the settings on the above and then restart Windows NT.



4. TROUBLE SHOOTING
===================

Q1. I cannot find the drive letter for my MO drive.
A1. Use MO Formatter to assign the drive letter. Refer section 2.6 HOW TO ASSIGN AND REMOVE THE DRIVE LETTER(S) for more information.

Q2. The second or subsequent partition(s) is not accessible.
A2. The drive letter(s) for the second or subsequent partition(s) is not assigned. Use MO Formatter to assign the drive letter(s). Refer section 2.6 HOW TO ASSIGN AND REMOVE THE DRIVE LETTER(S) for more information.

Q3. I cannot read/write an MO disk.
A3. A disk which is formatted by another formatter might have this problem. In order to solve this problem, use MOFORMAT.EXE to convert the disk and make it readable. Refer section 2.4 HOW TO CONVERT for more information.

Q4. I cannot find my MO drive in NT's Disk Administrator utility.
A4. Use MO Formatter to access your MO drive.
