Preface
=======
Thank you for purchasing Fujitsu's magneto-optical (MO) disk drive.

This program allows you to easily perform physical or logical formatting
on your MO disks in DOS environment.

1. Before installation
======================
1.1  Operating environment (hardware)
-------------------------------------
The following hardware is necessary for the operation of this program:

(1) IBM PC/AT or compatible
(2) Fujitsu SCSI interface MO drive
(3) SCSI board

1.2  Operating environment (software)
-------------------------------------
The following software is necessary for the operation of this program:
(1) MS-DOS version 5 or later
(2) Fujitsu MO drive device driver MODISK2.SYS

2. Installation
================
In order to install program, run INSTALL.EXE

3. Overview
============
This program allows you to easily perform physical or logical formatting
on your MO disks using menu screens in MS-DOS.

[Note]
Physical formatting and Low Level formatting is the same meaning.

3.1 Supported physical formats of MO disks
-------------------------------------------
3.5-inch MO disks (conforming to ISO/IEC 10090, 13963 and 15041 standards and
230Mbytes overwrite MO disks.)

    Sector length: 512 bytes, 2048 bytes
    Capacity: 128 Mbytes, 230 Mbytes, 540 Mbytes, 640Mbytes.

    NOTE) In order to format 128MB disk, you need MO drive which can write to
          128MB disk.

3.2 Supported logical formats of MO disks
------------------------------------------
This MO formatter can perform physical formatting and logical formatting
on MO disks.
Logically formatted MO disks can be recognized by the operating system.

This MO formatter supports the following formats:
(1) Super floppy format
(2) NSR format (Up to 10 partitions can be set.)
(3) PC/AT hard disk format (Up to 10 partitions can be set.)

In formats (2) and (3), multiple partitions can be made on one MO disk
just like a hard disk.
The above three formats are in the FAT (File Allocation Table) format of DOS.

[Note]
(1) Note that formatting destroys all data on the disk.
(2) This program does not execute if the device driver, MODISK2.SYS,is not
    loaded.

4. Operating the MO formatter
