Advanced
In the Advanced tab, you can configure the following settings: Live View Source, Motion Detection Recording, and RTSP & RTP Setting.
To configure Live View source, select one of the following:
- From Surveillance Station: You can select this option if you are unable to watch Live View via the Internet when using the camera as the Live View Source. Selecting this option consumes more server resources and may add time delay to Live View.
- From Camera: Select this option to avoid using additional server resources and also to minimize time delay to Live View. However, you must port forward the camera to watch Live View via the Internet.
To configure motion detection recording, select one of the following:
- Motion detection by the camera: Select this option to reduce server usage. Note that not all cameras natively support motion detection.
- Motion detection by Surveillance Station: Select this option if your camera does not natively support motion detection.
For more information about the settings of Motion Detection Recording, please see Edit Motion Detection Settings.
To configure how Surveillance Station connects to the camera, select one of the following:
- Auto: Surveillance Station will automatically decide which protocol to use.
- UDP: UDP provides lower latency but also has lower video quality.
- TCP: TCP provides higher video quality but has higher latency than UDP.
- HTTP: Surveillance Station will connect via HTTP to avoid firewall restrictions.
