Motion
In the Motion tab, you can set up motion detection for your camera.
- Choose the detection source by selecting By camera, By Surveillance Station, or Disable from Detection Source.
- If you select By camera, you can choose to keep the original camera settings. You can also fine-tune the values of Sensitivity, Threshold, Object size, and Trigger percentage (available parameters are subject to camera capability) by unchecking the Keep original camera settings box. The value range is 1 to 99 (%). See the note below for detection parameter definitions.
- If you select By Surveillance Station, you can fine-tune values for Sensitivity and Threshold. The value range is 1 to 99 (%). See the note below for detection parameter definitions.
- If you select By Surveillance Station, click Detection Area to define the detection area. Click Add to add a new detection area. The area can be resized by clicking and dragging the outer perimeter boxes. Name the area and click OK. Finally, click Save to save your changes.
Note:
- Sensitivity: The sensitivity for motion detection. Larger values will trigger motion detection more easily. This is a factor in determining how large the difference between a series of frames needs to be to trigger motion detection.
- Threshold: The threshold of motion detection. Larger values will trigger motion detection for larger movements. Smaller values will trigger motion detection more easily.
- Object size: The size of the object. Larger values will trigger motion detection for larger moving objects. Smaller values may trigger motion detection for smaller moving objects.
- Trigger percentage: The percentage of the object in the view. Larger values will trigger motion detection for larger moving objects. Smaller values may trigger motion detection for smaller moving objects.
- The By camera option only appears when the camera supports motion detection. Selecting this option will also use the current camera settings to define the detection area.
- For detection By Surveillance Station, if no detection area has been set, the full camera view will be set as the detection area.
- Each detection parameter value proportionally correlates to camera values.
- Checking Keep original camera settings may not immediately apply the current camera settings. Surveillance Station routinely requests camera setting updates. The current camera settings will be applied after the next update request.
