Advanced
You can select which types of events will trigger Surveillance Station to send notification messages using any service (email, SMS, or mobile), as well as configure notification schedules.
Notification events are divided into six categories:
-
System: System status changes
- Camera: Camera status changes and event detections
- Access Control: Access control status changes
- VisualStation: VisualStation status changes
- Server: Connection status changes for CMS recording server
- External Device: External triggered events
Each of the events have their own default notification messages, but you can customize your own notification messages. System default messages can be restored at anytime.
To set up the notification service type and schedule for notification events:
- Select a notification event group from the left panel.
- Select a notification event from the right panel and click Edit > Edit.
- In the Settings tab, select which services you want to receive notifications through for this event by checking the corresponding boxes next to Email, SMS, or Mobile.
- Some notification events will also display a schedule for you to specify when notifications are allowed to be sent. Use the scheduling grid to determine when notifications are allowed to be sent.
- Click Apply to save your changes.
- Click Close to finish.
To customize notification messages:
- Select a notification event group from the left panel.
- Select a notification event from the right panel and click Edit > Edit.
- In the Advanced tab, you can customize the notification message. Directly enter your new subject and message content into Subject and Content.
- Click Apply to save your changes.
- Click Close to finish.
To restore notification messages to default:
- Select a notification event group from the left panel.
- Select a notification event from the right panel and click Edit > Edit.
- In the Advanced tab, click Restore Defaults. The subject and message content will be restored to their original text.
- Click Apply to save your changes.
- Click Close to finish.
Note:
- It is recommended that you keep the text bound by "%" in both the subject line and message content. They are system variables that will be replaced with actual system information when a notification is sent.
To batch edit notification events:
- Select a notification event group from the left panel.
- Click Edit > Edit Batch to open the Notification Batch Edit Wizard.
- Follow the Wizard instructions to complete the batch editing. You can set up notification service types, which system component (e.g., door and camera) to send notifications for, as well as modify notification schedules.
