Email

You can set up Surveillance Station to automatically send you system notifications by email. You can apply existing notification settings from DSM or configure new notification settings.

To set up email notifications using existing notification settings in DSM:

  1. Check the Enable e-mail notifications box.
  2. Select Apply email notification settings specified at DSM > Control Panel.
  3. Click Send a test email and then OK to see if your settings are correct. Check your settings if no test email is received.
  4. Click Apply to save your changes.

To set up email notifications using a third-party provider:

  1. Check the Enable e-mail notifications box.
  2. Select Apply the following email information to enter a new email address.
  3. Specify a primary address in Primary email. You may also specify a secondary address in Secondary email. Notifications will be sent to both email addresses.
  4. You may add a subject header in Subject prefix. This prefix will be added to the subject of each message sent by Surveillance Station, helping you identify and filter messages sent by Surveillance Station.
  5. Select your email service provider from Service provider.
  6. Enter your email account information in Username and Password.
  7. Click Send a test email and then OK to see if your settings are correct. Check your settings if no test email is received.
  8. Click Apply to save your changes.

To setup email notifications using a custom SMTP server:

  1. Check the Enable e-mail notifications box.
  2. Select Apply the following email information to enter a new email address.
  3. Specify a primary address in Primary email. You may also specify a secondary address in Secondary email. Notifications will be sent to both email addresses.
  4. You may add a subject header in Subject prefix. This prefix will be added to the subject of each message sent by Surveillance Station, helping you identify and filter messages sent by Surveillance Station.
  5. Select Custom SMTP server from Service provider.
  6. Enter the SMTP server name or IP address in SMTP server.
  7. Enter the SMTP port number in SMTP port. If you have specified a different SMTP port while setting up port forwarding rules, please enter that number instead.
  8. If your SMTP server requires SMTP authentication, check the Authentication required box and enter your account information in Username and Password.
  9. If your SMTP server requires an SSL/TLS connection, check the Secure connection (SSL/TLS) is required box.
  10. You may customize the sender's name that appears on email messages sent from Surveillance Station by entering a name in Sender name. You may also customize the sender's email address by entering an email address in Sender email. If this field is blank, the email address in Primary email will be used.
  11. Click Send a test email and then OK to see if your settings are correct. Check your settings if no test email is received.
  12. Click Apply to save your changes.
