Recording List
In the List tab, you can browse, play, download, delete, lock, and unlock all recordings. The left panel shows all recording categories. Recording categories can be sorted by recording date and camera. The recording list on the right displays all recordings in the selected category. Recordings are tagged with the following Status icons:
: Continuous Recording
: Manual Recording
: Motion Detection Recording
: Alarm Recording1
: Custom Recording
: Edge Recording
:Action Rule Recording
: Indicates the recording is being saved

- The recordings of deleted cameras are reserved here for you to playback and manage.
Manage Recordings
To play recordings using Recording Player, do either of the following:
- Select the recorded clip(s) you want to play from the list, and click Play. (Press and hold the "Shift" or "Ctrl" key for multiple selections.)
- Right-click one or multiple recorded clip(s), and click Play. (Press and hold the "Shift" or "Ctrl" key for multiple selections.)
- Double-click a recorded clip to open Recording Player. To learn more about how to use Recording Player, click here.
To lock/unlock recordings:
Click the Lock/Unlock button, and do any of the following to lock/unlock recordings:
- Lock selected items/Unlock selected items: The selected recordings will be locked/unlocked2.
- Lock this category/Unlock this category: The recordings in the selected category will be locked/unlocked.
- Lock all/Unlock all: All recordings will be locked/unlocked.
- Lock filtered items/Unlock filtered items: If you have set a filter in the Filter window, recordings that match the criteria will be locked/unlocked.
- Lock filtered items in this category/Unlock filtered items in this category: If you have set a filter in the selected category, recordings that match the criteria will be locked/unlocked.
Locking recordings prevents them from being deleted by the archive rotation or the delete button.
To download recordings:
Select the recorded clip you want to download. Click Download and choose the destination to save the recording. The video clip will be saved in .avi or .mp4 format.
To stop video recording immediately:
If the camera is currently recording, right-click on the camera and select Stop Recording.
To filter recordings:
Click the Filter icon, and then filter recordings by servers, cameras, modes, lock status, and time.
To change viewing mode:
Click
in the upper-right corner and select a viewing mode.
To delete recordings:
Click the Delete button, and do any of the following to delete recordings:
- Delete selected items: The selected recordings will be deleted2.
- Delete this category: The recordings in the selected category will be deleted.
- Delete all: All recordings will be deleted.
- Delete filtered items: If you have set a filter in the Filter window, recordings that match the criteria will be deleted.
- Delete filtered items in this category: If you have set a filter in the selected category, recordings that match the criteria will be deleted.
Note:
- Your IP camera must support alarm recording to be able to use this function. Alarm recording requires you to configure the IP camera's digital input pin. When the IP camera is triggered by an input signal, it will send a signal to Surveillance Station to start alarm recording. Refer to the documentation that came with the IP camera for detailed instructions on pin configuration.
- You can press "Ctrl" or "Shift" for multiple selections.
