Push Service
You can enable push service to send notification messages to your mobile devices via Synology's push service server when system status changes or errors occur.
Note:
- Before enabling push service, please make sure your $_DSPRODUCTNAME_$ can access the Internet using port 8089.
- To integrate notifications for both DSM and Surveillance Station, please refer to Advanced.
To use an email server hosted by Synology:
- Tick Send notifications regarding system status via Synology's email server.
- Enter one or more email addresses in the Recipients field. Email notifications will be sent to your specified addresses.
Note: Any two addresses should be separated with a semicolon (;).
- Click Save to continue. You will need to verify your email addresses before being able to receive push notifications. A verification email will be sent to the addresses you have specified. Please follow the steps in the verification email.
- After verification, click Send a test message and then OK to see if your settings are correct. Check your settings if no test message is received.
Note:
- Even when you have enabled the notification integration function in the Advanced tab, the Attach an event snapshot and Enable email interval limit options in the Email tab are available for Surveillance Station's events only.
To enable mobile device notifications:
- Tick Enable mobile device notifications box, and then click Save.
- On your mobile device, install DS cam and log in to Surveillance Station.
- Back in Surveillance Station, click Send a test message and then OK to send a test notification.
- Launch DS cam on your mobile device to check whether you have received the test message. Check your settings if no test message is received.
Note:
- If you wish to receive notifications from DSM, you need to install DS finder on your mobile device, and add this Synology product to the Favorite list.
To manage paired mobile devices:
- Click Manage paired DS cam or Manage paired DS finder to see the list of all paired mobile devices.
Note: The Manage paired DS finder button will show in this tab only when you have enabled the notification integration function in the Advanced tab.
- If you want to unpair any of the devices, select a device and click Unpair. You can press and hold Shift or Ctrl to make multiple selections. No notifications will be sent to the unpaired devices unless you pair them up again.
- Click Close to finish.
Note:
- The notification language displayed on mobile devices is based on the language setting of your device.
- The push notification service provided by DS finder is only available on iOS and Android platforms.
