Double-Layer High-Gain Microstrip
Array Antenna

Abstract:
Novel double-layer microstrip array antennas are introduced for
high-gain applications. In the proposed antennas, the complex and lossy feed
network is not needed. Rather the double structure provides the field distribution
at the aperture for the beam-focusing effect. A relatively simple design method
based on a cavity model is presented.
