Advances in Catheter Ablation
for the Treatment of Cardiac Arrhythmias
Arnold J. Greenspon
Page 2670.
Abstract:
RF catheter ablation has become the nonpharmacologic treatment
of choice for refractory cardiac arrhythmias. Single carefully directed RF
lesions are capable of curing most supraventricular tachycardias. Recent developments
in cardiac mapping and lesion formation allow for the analysis and treatment
of more complex arrhythmias. Such new technology should help to expand the
number of patients successfully treated with catheter ablation.
