ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: Pursuant to the provisions of subsection (d) of section 10 of
Public Law 92-463, as amended by section 5 of Public Law 94-409, notice
is hereby given that a closed meeting of the DIA Science and Technology
Advisory Board has been scheduled as follows:

DATES: 14 January 1999 (800 am to 1600 pm).

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The entire meeting is devoted to the
discussion of classified information as defined in section 552b(c)(l),
Title 5 of the U.S. Code, and therefore will be closed to the public.
The Board will receive briefings on and discuss several current
critical intelligence issues and advise the Director, DIA, on related
scientific and technical matters.

Joint Advisory Committee on Nuclear Weapons Surety; Meeting

ACTION: Notice of advisory committee meeting.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUMMARY: The Joint Advisory Committee on Nuclear Weapons Surety will 
conduct a closed session on February 23, 1999 at the Institute for 
Defense Analyses, Alexandria, Virginia.
    The Joint Advisory Committee is charged with advising the 
Secretaries of Defense and Energy, and the Joint Nuclear Weapons 
Council on nuclear weapons systems surety matters. At this meeting the 
Joint Advisory Committee will receive classified briefings on nuclear 
weapons operations and Department of Defense nuclear readiness.
    In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Public Law 
92-463, as amended, Title 5, U.S.C. App. II, (1988)), this meeting 
concerns matters sensitive to the interests of national security, 
listed in 5 U.S.C. 552b(c)(1) and accordingly this meeting will be 
closed to the public.

Sixth Annual National Security Education Program (NSEP) 
Institutional Grants Competition

AGENCY: Department of Defense, National Security Education Program 
(NSEP).

ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: The NSEP announces the opening of its Sixth Annual Competition 
for Grants to U.S. Institutions of Higher Education.

DATES: The 1999 NSEP Grants Competition begins on Monday, February 8, 
1999. Preliminary Proposals are due Friday, April 9, 1999.

will be available and may be downloaded from the NSEP home page 
beginning Monday, February 8, 1999. This is the address. http://
